Winnie Weetch, my Grandmother is 100 today! Born in 1913, a year before WW1, when Lewis Lewis, High Street was the big store in Swansea, the Mumbles Railway was yet to become electric, George V was King and Asquith (Liberal) was Prime Minister! Women were still not allowed to vote and Emaline Pankhurst was imprisoned for demonstrating and organising marches for the cause.
A lot of the things I do today have been influenced by her, particularly her approach to Health & Wellbeing. She didn’t like doctors or modern medicine, she believed in herbal remedies and she also kept fit all her life – walking, beachcombing and gardening.
She also read a lot on nutrition and ate very healthily all her life.
An inspirational woman!
Amazing! Congratulations Nan! Xx
