WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF REFLEXOLOGY?
Reflexology or Zone Therapy, is a holistic complementary therapy, which completes the whole body, incorporating mind, body and spirit, rather than just treating the symptoms.
Reflexology, has its roots in ancient Egypt, and works on the principle that every organ and system of the body has a corresponding point or zone in the feet.
I use a light pressure to massage each of the points in the toes, feet and ankles to release tension, remove energy blockages, stimulate blood circulation and promote healing of both body and mind.
Reflexology can be used to treat a wide range of disorders including skin and respiratory conditions, migraine, PMS and menopausal problems, chronic fatigue, stress, depression and anxiety. It can also be used to help with conditions such as, eczema, bronchitis or insomnia, or just simply to keep the body’s energy flowing and the mind in balance.
Immediately after a reflexology treatment, you may feel very relaxed and sleepy and just want to go home and lie down or you may feel invigorated and bursting with energy. Reflexology is suitable for everyone, except those people who dislike having their feet touched or if you are in the first 3 months of pregnancy.
As well as treating people with various problems ranging from stress to insomnia, asthma to diabetes, I also have reflexology session myself about once a month just to rebalance the body and relieve stress levels.

Reflexology really does help to balance mind, body and soul!
Thanks! Does it hurt? I know in massage therapy, I feel pressured more in certain areas than others. You mentioned once a month, and for how long per session?
Thank you for your enquiry. The first session is usually an hour and then 45 mins thereafter. The pressure that is applied can be gentle or a little firmer depending on the sensitivity of the feet. There should be no pain felt, however in sensitive areas it may feel a little tender particularly if there is an area of the body that needs assistance.
Thanks again for this blog post. Because of your post and response, I tried reflexology for the first time about two weeks ago. It was a very nice experience. The reflexologist explained all the different links from feet to my internal organs. I felt relaxed afterwards, but it seems like things just went back to normal (stress) days after. I will try the therapy again in a month.
