I was wondering what piece of advice I would give the younger me. With all of life’s experiences, was there anything I would say to the 16 year old me, full of angst, on the verge of adulthood and yet barely out of childhood.
It would be….’don’t spend all that time worrying you’ll be fine’!
That got me thinking about what my friends would say if they could time travel and here’s what they said:
Donna C – Listen to your mother, whatever she told you (even when you didnt want to hear it) was usually right!
Alison B – Follow your dream, don’t let anyone try and steal it away from you.
Sarah M – Don’t get side tracked by boys….get some career advice and become something amazing… Not that I don’t love my job as I do x
Kathy C – Don’t put everyone before yourself, you have the right to happiness too.
Anne R – Don’t act so broken hearted by the boy you think you ‘love’ at school!!
Valerie D – Look at the world with confidence, even if you don’t have it.
Lucinda R – To have been more adventurous and had the confidence to travel/work my way around the world for a year or two before settling down.
Christine U – Don’t smoke that first cigarette! Even though you think you could give up easily, it will be thirty years before you eventually do!
Caroline Q – You don’t have to follow the herd, or do what the loudest person in your peer group says. Be warned, there are an awful lot of empty kettles around!
I would love to here the advice you would give, so please like and comment.
