Carven – making it a fragrant summer!

Carven 2

I was lucky enough to be sent a deluxe sample of the new Carven fragrance – Carven Le Parfum, which earlier in the year had successfully launched in Harrods.

My memories of Carven were mostly of Ma Griffe, which I hadn’t seen since the early 90’s and seemed a little old fashioned from what I can remember.  I wondered what this new fragrance from a classic brand, would be like.

As promised, I always try products for a month or more to gauge the true results, this includes fragrances, so I can see if there are any reactions or comments from others.

Carven Le Parfum, is fresh and captivates the energy and spirit of their fashion, and proved to be anything but old fashioned!

The fragrance opens with the spontaneity of mandarin blossom, combined with the delicacy of white hyacinth. The heart is a somewhat impertinent floral bouquet composed with devilish cunning, built around sweet pea, jasmine and ylang ylang. The sensuous bottom notes are precious and woody: white sandalwood, osmanthus and Indonesian patchouli.

It is a light and easy-to-wear fragrance, perfect for the summer, don’t be put off by the patchouli, it is just a hint. It gives that just-stepped-out-of-the-shower clean smell.  Believe me, I work in a small office and I have received nothing but positive comments about how I smell! It always helps!

The marketing seems to be aimed at quite a young audience but at 56 I think it is perfect for any age, but that’s just my personal opinion, as I still think I AM young!

In summary this fragrance is FAB! Available from Harrods or Debenhams!
